Shepody Mountain Sunset
I've been fortunate in my life to have had an opportunity to work with wood
in different ways. I’ve worked cutting timber, had the opportunity
to work as a carpenter and briefly as a log builder. In the mid seventies
I had the chance to work with a very fine craftsman and
learned the basics of joinery and a love for fashioning furniture out of
wood. I was also lucky enough to purchase an old farm
about the same time and built my own shop with a great view of the Bay of
Fundy.
Over the years I've had a chance to work on many projects making and designing
solid wood furniture for offices, public buildings and homes. Each wood has
unique qualities. The rich dark tones of cherry or the subtle beauty of satin
birch each give to the character and design of the finished piece. Each task
brings it’s own challenges and rewards, the greatest reward is the pleasure
each piece brings to its recipient.
Commissions
If you are interested in having a piece made I would be happy to talk to
you. I meet, or correspond, with clients and discuss the details and
time line for a project. I provide an estimate on the cost of the finished
product. I'll take care to ensure that you are happy with the process as
well as the
finished piece.
